From Outside the West

Exploring aspects of being a traveler and witnessing changing landscapes, this project is the close to the arc of participatory model building/city projects.

The Population of southwestern county of Utah grew approximately 200% from 2000-2010. Former small farming towns have spread out into vast retirement communities. Participants were invited to construct houses from pre-made building doll templates on postcards. These creations were installed onto a series of paper mache mini-mesas. Subsequently participants creations were inserted back out into the real landscape and photographed.
